Frequently Asked Questions

How does the process work?

We begin with a free initial consultation to discuss the story you’d like to preserve, the scope of the book, package options, estimated costs and expected timeline.

Through guided interviews, we gather the memories and shape them into a clear, engaging, multi-chapter narrative. We then bring together editing, photo placement, and interior and cover design. Finally, your family reviews the manuscript before the finished book is prepared for printing.

What if I don’t have a real story to tell?

Anyone can publish a memoir! Through carefully guided interviews, we help bring out details, memories, experiences and reflections, and then weave them into a beautiful, cohesive narrative for your family to treasure.

Do I need to prepare anything before the interviews?

No special preparation is needed. The interviewer will guide the conversation with questions that help bring out memories, experiences and meaningful details. The story can simply be shared in your own words.

Can other family members contribute stories?

Absolutely! The number of interviewees included depends on the package you choose. Additional family members can be included through an upgrade, which we can discuss during the initial consultation. The more contributors there are, the more perspectives and details can be included, allowing us to create a richer account.

How do we choose the right package?

Consider how much of the story you’d like to preserve and how much detail you’d like the book to contain. Some families choose to focus on selected memories, while others want a fuller life story or a broader family history. During the initial consultation, we’ll help you choose the scope that fits your goals and budget.

Will we be able to review the manuscript before printing?

Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to review the manuscript and request changes through the revision rounds included in your package or upgrade.

One appointed family member will coordinate the review, gather everyone’s comments, and communicate to us feedback for each round. This helps keep the process organized and the family’s instructions consistent.

How long does a memoir project usually take?

Excellent question! The timeline depends on the scope of the project, including the interviews, writing, design and family review. We’ll discuss the expected timeframe during your initial consultation.

Can we order additional printed copies?

Of course! Additional copies are always available, so you can share your book with all your loved ones.
